Children’s Day
Children’s Day is celebrated in India every year on 14th of November. It is celebrated as the birth anniversary of first Indian Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He was very loving of the children and had great affection to them. He liked very much to be amongst children as well as talk and play with them. Children were used to of calling him as Chacha Nehru to show their love and respect.It is celebrated by the teachers and students in schools and colleges with great passion and enthusiasm. It is celebrated with lots of events and activities performed by the children. Children participate in activities like poem recitation, painting, quizzes, dance, debate, etc to remember Chacha Nehru’s great works for the country. Other cultural programs including national songs, patriotic songs, speeches, and stage short dramas are also organized in Schools. Students totally enjoy this day as they can wear any formal and colorful dress as they wish. Teachers also participate in various cultural activities like songs, dramas, and dances for their beloved students. Students also enjoy picnics with their teachers. On childrens day many sports events are organized and prizes distributed among children. In Schools, Gifts and snacks are distributed to all the students.
