In India, Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on 2nd October. Gandhi Jayanti is the birth anniversary of the father of the nation (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi). Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is commonly called Mahatma Gandhi and also has a nick name “Bapu”. His policy of peaceful, non violent protests was something new to the world and also recognized by the many nations. According to Gandhiji, truth and non-violence are the only tools to victory independence. Bapu always used to believe in social equality and also against untouchability. It is celebrated by organizing many activities in the schools, educational institutions, colleges, government offices, communities, society, and other places.

Mahatma Gandhi had a great hate for the British rule in India. Though, he was not in favour of the path of violence. Gandhiji strictly was a believer in the philosophy of non-violence. Subsequently, the man opposed British rule in a peaceful mode. Additionally, Gandhi’s peaceful protests and movements were highly effective. His methods and plans were very efficient. Due to his incredible effectiveness, Bapu became an inspiration for other World leaders. Once again, Gandhi was presented with another title of Mahatma. The importance of the word Mahatma is a great soul.
