In our country, many festivals celebrated. In this one of the festival is Gudi Padwa. It is an Indian festival that marks the beginning of the New Year and celebrated the Indian state of Maharashtra. Gudi Padwa is a Hindu festival and it is celebrated on the first day of Hindu month of Chaitra. This day has its own special importance mostly among the Hindus. It is supposed that on this day, Lord Brahma created the Universe. This day is also celebrated to mark the coronation ritual of Lord Rama. After spending fourteen years in exile, Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya. This day is also representative of the season of Vasant or spring in India. Also Maharashtra, observed under different names in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu as well, though by a smaller community of people. The celebration of the Gudi Padwa Festival is related to prosperity and wealth. Everything looks bright and vibrant. People wear traditional garments on this day. The day begins with prayers. This day people exchange sweets and gift takes place between relations and friends.
